New Years Eve at Beatrix Potters local...

Like everyone else we wanted a nice breath of fresh air after eating one mince pie too many! We thought we'd combine a walk with a pub pit stop - it'd be rude not too.

Tower Arms is a  traditional 17th Century Lakeland Inn, situated in the village of Near Sawrey.  Just a short drive down from Rosemount Guest House to the Windermere Car Ferry, a fun trip across Lake Windermere and just 5 minutes drive up to Sawrey.

Tower Arms is special whatever the time of year as it features in Beatrix Potter's famous Tales Of Jemima Puddleduck.  Hilltop, Beatrix Potters former home, is situated just behind the pub!  At this time of year the decorations make it look even more charming than ever.

With the last traces of snow on the ground we enjoyed a warming glass of mulled wine before doing a brisk 2 mile circular walk.  Just lovely and perfect for setting the scene on New Years's to lot's more exploring in 2011!
